How to create your API keys

Follow these steps to connect your exchange to TradingIA. It takes under 5 minutes and works the same for Binance, Kraken and OKX. First, your exchange account needs advanced identity verification completed and two-factor enabled.

Start with the first step

The key's permissions

Reading and spot trading enabled; withdrawal, never. This is the step that ensures your funds can't leave the exchange.

PermissionStatus
Enable readingBalances, positions and history.
Enabled
Enable Spot & Margin TradingLimit orders and their associated stop.
Enabled
Enable FuturesOptional, BTC, ETH and SOL only.
Optional
Enable withdrawalsTradingIA doesn't ask for this permission.
Disabled
Restrict access to trusted IPs onlyAvailable on your dashboard when you connect the account.
Go to the dashboard

The names are Binance's; on Kraken and OKX the labels change, not the path.

Now, save the keys

On confirming, the exchange shows the secret key only once: copy it and paste it into TradingIA right then, because afterwards it can't be viewed again.

The futures API is separate

Optional and with its own key. It only covers BTC, ETH and SOL; the rest trade spot with the existing key.

The other assets trade spot with the existing key.

The permission we never tick

In step 5 you'll see: reading and spot in green; futures only to hedge a position; withdrawal off and locked.

Disabled

TradingIA doesn't ask for withdrawal on any exchange. Without that box ticked, nobody with the key can move your coins out of your account.

Five minutes on the clock, six screens

The path is the same on all three exchanges; only the menu names change.

  1. 1. Open API management

Inside your exchange account, go to the API area: it's the screen where keys are created, listed and revoked.

    Account › API Management
  2. 2. Choose the key type

Choose the system-generated one, HMAC type: it's the one we recommend and the one TradingIA signs with on every order.

    Key type › System-generated
  3. 3. Name it

Label it so you recognize it at a glance the day you want to revoke it, without touching your other keys.

    Label › TradingIA-spot
  4. 4. Complete verification

The exchange will ask for two-factor and, depending on the case, a code by email or SMS. Without advanced identity verification it won't let you create the key.

  5. 5. Set the permissions

Reading and spot trading enabled; withdrawal, never. This is the step that ensures your funds can't leave the exchange.

  6. 6. Add the IP whitelist

Restrict the key to our address: it will only respond from TradingIA servers. Many exchanges expire unrestricted keys.

See the IP on the dashboard

Ready to connect?

Keep the key and secret you just generated at hand. Pasting them into TradingIA is all that's left.
